What are some opinions about the best place to hook a minnow for crappie fishing?

alot depend on how the minnow is fished  .  i like to hook mine threw the lower jaw out the top of the head  , when using a jig or lead head  , it allows the jig to swim  the way it was made to .  when using a gold hook and spit shot  with a bobber i will hook the minnow threw the back  , above the spine  ,behind the fin  it makes the minnow to go crazy with out instant death

Thanks for the reply Jason.  I have used those two techniques before, and also have hooked them through the eyes.  I was just wondering where hooking would keep them the most active and alive the longest.
